New 189 visa invitation round today

Today, 21 August 2026, the Department of Home Affairs sent out invitations for the Skilled Independent visa subclass 189 visa through their SkillSelect program.

Congratulations on the applicants who have received an invitation on their Expression of Interest!

The details of the number of invitations made, the occupations invited and the minimum points score they were invited at are not yet published on the Home Affairs website.

The details on the numbers of the migration program intake for the fiscal year 2026 have not been finalised and published yet, and this invitation round has been a pleasant surprise for some.

The invitations received by the applicants we represent at Assent Migration Lawyers have a points score of 90 points or above.
