Dessie has 25 years of exclusively working in the area of visa and immigration law, and the global free movement of people. She has admitted to practice as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales and the Supreme Court of Victoria since 2007.
Dessie is a member of the Migration Institute of Australia and has presented to migration agents and lawyers for the Migration Institute of Australia in CPD seminars and in their Practice Ready Program. Dessie is also an active member of the Refugee Law Reform Committee at the Law Institute of Victoria.
With a career in visa and immigration law that spans the continents of Europe and Australia, Dessie was a co-founder and partner of a boutique law firm that won a number of awards, including a finalist in the Law Institute of Victoria Best Boutique Law Firm. Assent Migration Lawyers was founded by Dessie as principal to provide a highly personalised expert visa and immigration service. In the past, Dessie has been a leader in the visa and immigration field working in top tier law firms, global relocation companies and migration consultancies. Last but not least she worked with asylum seekers through the UNHCR in the mid-1990s in a war-torn zone.

Don is an experienced and well-respected Hong Kong-based Australian migration expert helping with all Australian migration enquires and services. Registered with the Migration Agents Registration Authority (MARA), Registration Number 9501008. His expertise in Australian immigration law covers the full spectrum of the Australian migration program and all aspects of the Australian visa processes, with a comprehensive, experience-based understanding of how the system operates.
Don is legally qualified, Bachelor of Laws from the University of Melbourne, Australia, (1992) with over 25 years practising experience as an Australian solicitor (1993-2011, 2016-2017). Registered Migration Agent (1995-2011; currently 2021-). He has been an Accredited Specialist in Immigration Law, Law Institute of Victoria, from 2000-2013 and 2016 to 2021) and has served as a member of the Institute’s Immigration Specialisation Advisory Committee. Grace commenced her legal career in Australian in 2004 when she was admitted to practice as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales. She was first registered with the Migration Agents Registration Authority in 2009. Grace is practising as a solicitor based in Sydney.
Grace is a member of the New South Wales Law Society and is representing clients in visa, immigration citizenship and family law matters. With a career that spans across Asia and Australia, Grace has worked in one of the top ten corporate law firms in Australia and in specialist boutique immigration consultancies, as well as being the principal of her own practice.

Umesh is admitted to practice as Lawyer of the Supreme Court of Victoria. He has completed a Juris Doctor degree from RMIT University Melbourne, as well as a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from College of Law. He has an empathetic and understanding approach to migration law and is committed to advocating for his clients to achieve successful outcomes in complex cases.
Umesh was drawn to a career in Immigration Law because of his desire to make a difference to the lives of both individuals and businesses. With a migrant background himself, Umesh is passionate about empowering people pursue opportunities and deal with the challenges of settlement in a new country and is delighted to assist his clients in achieving their migration goals.
Prior to commencing his legal career, Umesh worked as a teacher and a nurse in India and Australia. Being of Indian decent, he is fluent in Hindi, Punjabi and Urdu.
