After long anticipation since the numbers were allocated to the State of Queensland, the Business and Skilled Migration Queensland program is open for seven days only until 7 February 2021. So hurry up and lodge a new Expression of Interest and an application with the State. You must be residing and working in Queensland and your application score must above 80 if you are aiming for the direct pathway to permanent residency through the Skilled Nominated (Permanent) Subclass 190 visa or you are above the threshold 65 points if you are seeking eligibility under the Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) Subclass 491 visa. Other requirements are in place too. For the 491 visa you must work in one of the COVID critical skills sectors as defined by the Department of Home Affairs, listed by the Queensland Government in a non-exhaustive list as:
Air Ambulance, Critical Medical, Medical Technology,
Engineering, Critical Infrastructure, Supply Chain
Telecommunications, Film & Television Production,
Maritime Industry, Agricultural Technology Food Technology,
Mining, Emerging Technology, Financial Technology, and
Large Scale Manufacturing.
For the 190 visa you must have been working for the past 6 months in Queensland in your nominated occupation and have an offer for further 12 months and your nominated occupation must be on the Priority Skills Migration Occupation List:
